First thing first, what is VoIP?
VoIP, or Voice Over Internet Protocol, enables a standard analog telephone signal to turn into a digital signal that is transmitted over the internet. By connecting a standard telephone to a device called an ATA (analog telephone adapter), you can use your internet connection to make phone calls. Calls can also be made straight from your computer with the use of special software and a headset. This gives people the ability to make and receive phone calls on-the-go from wireless “hot spot” areas like airports, cafes, and hotels.
